Engine guru Bruce Coventry has been elevated to the role of managing partner at Motormindz to lead its automotive manufacturing and technology practice, the latest addition to the team of auto veterans.

In his new post, Coventry joins former CEO of Mazda North American operations Jim O’Sullivan; General Motors veteran Don Johnson; former Ford U.S. sales and marketing chief John Felice; and Chrysler veteran Ray Fisher.

Coventry joined Motormindz in January as senior partner.

“Not only will Bruce play a critical role in helping our manufacturing partners think through this evolving ecosystem,” CEO Jeff Van Dongen said in a statement, “his thought leadership will also be invaluable in helping our automotive retail partners prepare themselves to effectively embrace and monetize future technologies.”

In the past, he has was CEO of Global Electric Motorcars, a subsidiary of Chrysler, and president of Global Engine Manufacturing Alliance, a joint venture of DaimlerChrysler, Mitsubishi Motors and Hyundai.

He also served as vice president and general manager of DaimlerChrysler’s Engine, Foundry and Axle Operations, where he oversaw engine product strategy through new product launch.
